The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club
In 1836, the young Charles Dickens was suddenly propelled to fame on the back of a monthly piece commissioned by Chapman & Hall. These installments were collected together in 1837 and were published as The Pickwick Papers. The Pickwick Papers charts the adventures and observations of Mr Samuel Pickwick, chairman of the Pickwick Club, and his fellow members and cronies, Tracy Tupman, August Snodgrass, and Nathaniel Winkel.
